Seamon SPOILER

Post by Dradeel »

Are there any mods out there that permit the killing, disembodiment, destruction or otherwise the end of Seamon Havarian`s life? I saw a mod that allows the killing of Caspenar. There must be something for this guy too. I know he is essential for the story, but after he tells you the other way to Balty The Big Bad Monk, he should die. Even if you go in to the monestary with him he still betrays you AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

Funnily enough I've just killed him. When your on the ship leaving Brynnlaw, if you wait until after the conversation with the Githyankee captain you can concentrate all your attacks on the scumbag. You need to paralyze him someway, or otherwise prevent spellcasting (I was wielding Celestial Fury), but he can definitely be killed at that point.

At other points unfortunately he's wearing minimum hit points cheat items, I suspect that is the case in ToB.

I'm still expecting to run into the slimeball in ToB, given the appalling way that the game keeps resurrecting the dead (the game's littered with bad game design like that). I'll certainly try to kill him, but don't expect to succeed. If I do find a way I'll let you know.

Even *if* he's wearing minimum hitpoint items, he can still die from stat point loss.

I`ve just reached the island. Tomorrow I will do something I wanted to do since the day I finished the game for the first time. I will kill Seamon.
When I met him in ToB for the first time (when I first played trough ToB), I was not sure he would betray me. He convinced me with his arguments. I bought that I had to do it crap and the crap about we were even. Moments later he betrayes me again. I was sure this guy will pop out from every rock in the game. Even when I was fighting Melissan I still tought he would show up to screw things up. After I had finished the game I had a great fealing like I really did something. I completelly forgot about it on my next run, until I met him again. And the next run, and the next run,...
Thank you galrean. I will enjoy it.

Technically, when taking you to see Balthazar, he doesn't lie. He betrays the monks, not you.

I took galrean`s advice. Finished the bastard when I was boarded by Gith. If I didn`t know he`ll still be around it might have been satisfying.

I`m changing the opening thread so that it asks for a permanent solution to the problem. If anybody knows how to kill that overpompous fool let me know?

I found a much easier way to kill that pompous fool.

After you talk with him in Spellhold about boarding his ship, he tells you to get supplies and meet him in the local tavern. This is your best oppurtunity.

Jump that traitorous SOB right there. He won't Dimension Door out, he won't run, he won't get to 'Near Death' and stay there forever; you blow that bastard to bits while he fruitlessly tries to fight back.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: I loaded after I tried this, by the way. I guarantee that it eliminates sailing out as an option, so you'll miss out on the Shaugin(Sp?) city, therefore it's not recommended. It's just the easiest way if you don't care about the fish-city and you think that guy really deserves to die.

Now that's what I call cutting off your nose to spite your face Berethor. Missing out on the Sahuagin City is definitely not a good idea.

I must agree. I want that cloak of mirroring, and the Wave halbared. But now I have the Item upgrade mod and the staff of elemental, or something, which kills any elemetal on sight. The question is how much do I want that cloak.

There's also the +2 Cloak which Cromwell can upgrade (with the Item Upgrade mod) definitely worth having. The shopkeeper down there also has is worth the trip as she/he/it has pretty much the best prices in the game, best place in SoA to sell you goods.

Watch out for the [expletive deleted] undead in the south though, the [expletive deleted] just killed my main character! Which is why I'm here typing, to allow my frustration to recede, guess when I last saved the game?!!

PS There's a heck of a lot of XP down there too.

That's why I said it isn't recommended. Any sane person wouldn't want to miss out on the Sahuagin City and it's unique items.

It's just for those who want to kill that smug bastard to see what it feels like, then to re-load their quick-save.

But man, it felt gooooooood.

I love him, why would anyone want to kill him? :( He's just very good at improvising the most elaborate lies and fabrications with only a single purpose: to save his own hide (and maybe get a little richer in the process). His attempts to soothe my feelings about his behavior with charming words always bring tears (of laughter) to my eyes

I guess he's just a chaotic neutral or neutral evil character with a high amount of charisma, and a non-weapon proficiency in smooth-talking.

Just sit through the abuse, and reap the benefits. Remember it's you who ends up with a completed vorpal sword, and it's you who ends up killing Balthazar (which is what you wanted to do, right?). Your cooperation with that sneak Saemon is a means to an end, as much as your cooperation with that charming thief guildleader with the pink pants, whathisface.

I'm with Revi on this, though I would have liked to see Seamon's role and character a bit more detailed in the original game. As it is, he's a generic "glib bastard" type who will say and do anything to remain on top, but is obviously not bright enough to rise in the pecking order. A mod that brought him back as one of your companion choices in ToB would be amusing, but only as a joke, since Seamon would most likely betray you or run off during battle.

I do seem to recall a mod that let you cast a spell dropping a cow from a high distance on an opponent--possibly something from the Gibberlings Three? It's worth checking out. Though I would put Elminster far, far in front of Seamon as a recipient of bovine disapproval.

Haha, I think that is Shards of Ice, from G3, the component they urge you not to install.
