D&d 3.0..
D&d 3.0..
I'm pretty much new to Dungeons and Dragons, and I have one quick question. Some of my friends and I want to start playing and I purchased all the neccessary books (DM guide, PHB, and MM) and I ordered version 3.0. I read 3.5 wasn't much of an improvement over 3.0. All I am really wanting to know is that if I do DM, and get everything straightened out, will there be any issues playing 3.0? Will we run into any problems playing this older edition?
Thanks
Thanks
3.0 is doable, but 3.5 is an improvement in a lot of ways. There's the SRD, which contains all the info you need from the PHB, DMG and MM (although some specific monsters are missing.) The Hypertext d20 SRD (v3.5 d20 System Reference Document) :: d20srd.org
Especially the Ranger and Bard classes were made more fun, and the Paladin as well, not to mention that most of the splatbooks are 3.5, some of which are very, very fun.

Just wondering. As long as there is a way to look up the revised rules to see if we would want to use them, that's fine. I'm really new to D&D so I wasn't too sure if playing the older version w/o the revisions would pose a problem for us. Any other comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

Skills are different. Some nearly useless ones from 3.0 got abandoned, so that may a bit hard so fit them back in on a 3.5 sheet. Just use the SRD, you're only winning by using 3.5. BTW, I think there's a free download on the Wizards site that "converts" your 3.0 books to 3.5. Good luck finding anything on that sire, though. Google might be your best friend.
Thanks
Now, for my last question. Would using that D&D3.5 booklet (the pdf file from that link) be the next best to just going out and buying the 3.5 revisions. I would do that, but the place i got my 3.0 books from doesnt have the complete set and i really dont like putting up more cash if i could just use that instead, I'd rather just print out those 40 pages on my own printer and use them along with my 3.0 set.
