BG Tutu

Post by Dradeel »

I`ve been reserching this forum to find an anwser to a question and there is no straight anwser, despite the fact some people even asked it.

What MODS are compatible with BG tutu?
I have installed the whole package for BG1, ToSc, BG2, ToB.

Is everything that is compatible with ToB compatible with Tutu or are there restrictions? Does that mean I can use Shadowkeeper instead of Gatekeeper in BG1? Can I still add NPC mods for ToB or even something like Ascension?

It would be nice to get an anwser in a simple list of mods (compatible ones), but since the anwser is never that easy to obtain any information will be useful.

If anything is compatible, than this thread is a waste of time and I apologize. In my defense I will say I did not want to erase the whole game just becouse I did not know something and did not bother to find out.

You sue shadow Keeper not Gate or Swordcoast Keeper.

As to mods I haven't a clue, I've nevr run any in BG1.

PS However the answer to your question can be found here

AMAZING
Even better than I hoped for. All the anwsers in one place. Thank you VERY MUCH. This is another confirmation of the rule: When in doubt, ask.

One other thing. Are you using Tutu? I just want to know a few recomended mods. I can find anything on the link you gave, but I would like your personal opinion. I am reading about overpowerd Celestial fury +5 and then another guy says that you can`t get very far in Ascenson, without weapon enhancing mods (drugs).

I've literally just finished a run through of BG1 using Tutu, I just popped in here after transferring to SoA. As I said earlier though I've never used mods in BG1, I've never found the need for them, the game itself plus TotSC give a lot more XP than the cap allows. Heck I hit the limit (or would have had I not been running a cap remover) before reaching Baldur's Gate.

A little missunderstanding.

I am not interested in BG1 mods. I just want to know if I can play something like Ascension with tutu installed, or any other mod for SoA or ToB with tutu?

I have found some interesting mods on the link you gave. If you look at my first thread Spectral Brand I amcurrently playing a Kensai/Thief. I`ve never played a thief before and I don`t like the idea of a pure or any kit thief. I do believe they can be fun to play, I just want to try something I`m more familiar with, like a Kensai/Thief. I decided I want the Thiefs stronghold quest. As you see, I`ll need over 4 mil. to dualclass, making the stronghold available. That`s why I`ve installed the cap remover for BG1 and am soloing trough it. For that reason I thank you for the link. I can get I think at least a mil. xp with all quest mods.

I am only playing BG1 for the exp and BMU later. So you see, I do not wish to remove tutu, but still want to get something new when I get to Amn and later Tethyr. Doesn`t matter if new NPC`s, quests or weapons. All I want is the game to be balanced.

BG1 Tutu and Soa are different games, and liv ein different folders, the mods you install in SoA have no bearing on Tutu.

A fighter/thief of any kind is preferable to straight thief IMO, the one attack per round and poor THACO I find unbearable. I do consider Kensai/Thief to be too cheesy though, but that's because I consider using UAI to enable wearing armour to be a 'cheat', but I think UAI is too cheesy period and shouldn't be in the game. I usually go for Berserker/Thief myself, which avoids the temptation.

I did make the assumption that you've already installed Tutu by the way. I'm not sure my assertion would be true if you installed tweaks to SoA prior to installing Tutu. So to clarify, if you have installed Tutu already then any subsequent mod installations in SoA will not affect Tutu.
