radiated *AGAIN*

Post by Maverique »

God damn it, every time I go to *that* place I forget to take some radX's with me, now I've probably got a ton of radiation on me, everytime I leave the map and start traveling a bit, or even resting, I die. I won't mind cheating my way out of this, seeing as how all my 3 saves are with the same problem  and I don't want to restart. I haven't been able to find editors other than Falche and I can't alter my radiated status on it, it seems. Can anyone help? I don't have any radaway's on me either :(

if my memory serves me right i think you can find some radaway in a locker in that place. As far as cheating your way out of this goes i'm not sure if thats going to work. (I don't cheat) If you can't cheat or find some radaway i'm pretty sure your screwed.

With me I had 9 radaways, counting the ones I found on the glow, but now I have taken all of them and it apparently doesn't make a dent on the radiation level I've got, which must be huge. Don't tell me there isn't an editor out there that handles the radiation level on the character, please.

Doesn't Falche can help you out with that? There's also an invetory editor for FO2. Given the similarities between the two games, it might help you. Be sure to back up your saves, though.
If you can't find either of them, PM me, and I'll mail them to you.

I used that fallEd editor to rid myself of the radiation but he still dies in exactly the same time as before. I haven't gotten the radiated! sign on my character screen, that must mean I'm clean right?

Yes, it should mean you're clean. You're sure you die from radiation?

I don't know. When you die the screen fades to the screen of the character's skeleton in the desert, too fast to see.

Don't you get a message in the bottom left window about what kills you?

This guide explains radiation in detail. It's about Fallout 2, but the same site also has a FO1 walkthrough. Again, I think the mechanics for both games are the same. Just scroll a bit up on this link: Fallout 2 Walkthrough

You do get a message, I know, but it fades to the death screen so fast I can't see what it says. And those radiation mechanics, I don't get it. If my character screen says I'm not radiated, I shouldn't be dying from radiation, right? From what I read on the vault site, radaway craving affects your radiation resistance but since my character isn't radiated anymore...

Edit: WHEE nevermind! thanks to that guide, I altered my ST and EN to be able to cope with the massive dosage I'd taken. It said the character was suffering from violent diarrhea, and my stats lowered a lot, but I'm alive damn it :D thanks man
