7z

I am having trouble unzipping all mods of that type with Winrar, unfortunately, two of my favourite mods are 7z, and I'm using Vista.

So, is the trial version of winrar can not unzip 7z?
If yes, do you know another that is free and fully support/compatible with Vista?

Have you tried 7-Zip ?
It should be free, as it's open source software, not sure though if it works with Vista

Also, you could check http://www.izarc.org/index.html as well. It should also be free, as I didn't find anywhere any mention of price. And it's fully Vista compatible

I'm not certain if it is Vista compatible since I use XP, but I've long had excellent luck with ZipGenius. It unpacks more than 20 different formats and it's entirely free.

EDIT,
*sigh* just did some searching, seems that Zip Genius won't work with Vista, but in my googling I did come across Extract Now, which is Vista friendly.

7-Zip works under Vista, and its very streamlined and easy to use. It allows you to open and compress things using a lot of different compression formats.

WinRar should open 7z. Have you tried updating it?

Tried: yes, but I cannot buy anything from other countries by now.
So I'm looking for something free.

I downloaded izarc and 7z. Failed in the first day; try again next day, only to fail again. That occurs until this day.
I mean: when the download has been completed, and I launch izarc or 7z, an error message box appear saying that it is corrupted and I must dl a new copy
So I have izarc and 7z in my laptop but cannot use them.

Is this because my very slow connection or...?
