So mine are fireflies. At dusk, there's nothing more relaxing than watching the shadows lengthen against a backdrop of those flitting maniacs.

Cicadas. I always know when summer has really arrived when these ugly little critters start buzzing. So loud! And they start and stop for no apparent reason. A mystery for sure. I was once in the Tucson Botanical Gardens for a reception. Everyone was sitting around eating pumpkin ice cream and about a dozen cicadas were buzzing overhead. Suddenly they all stopped at once, and everyone found that they had been yelling at each other.
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

Thank goodness. Spider's are nasty things, unless, of course, you're another spider.
When I visiting some friends in Austin, Texas, several years ago, they heard their dog barking outside. They looked down what was then more or less a dirt road leading into nowhere, and slowly sauntering down the center of the hot street was a tarantula.

Have you ever held one, Fable?
Tarantulas are adooorable, and it tickles in a funny way when they walk on your skin
(If I know it's not poisonous, I don't mind holding spiders or insects.)
My favorite insect is the Hercules beetle. Also, I like dragon flies.
