Preview of This is Vegas and MK versus DCU at E3.

Ok, so the first preview is of a game called "This is Vegas" which is basically an end all Vegas simulator, gambling, showgirls, newly poor people, etc, but the prick who was demonstrating this game failed to show ANYTHING about the gambling, drinking, or showgirls. Those are like, the three key elements to Vegas. What's worse, what he did showcase was him beating up a tourist, something you can do in just about every Grand Theft Auto game and a thousand other old games.

Second game, Mortal Kombat Versus DC Universe, a game where you pit DC superhero's against Mortal Kombat awesomeness. I feel sorry for the guy demonstrating it due to his name, John Edwards. I know it wasn't him, but it just made me think of a pathetic shell of a politician so brutally beaten in the primaries that he's been downgraded to showing off video games for angsty teens. Anyways, onto the demonstration stuff. The two things I don't like about this are the ten characters on each side and "Brutalities" rather than Fatalities for DC characters. Now, Ten characters for each side is skimping on a lot of both sets of games, I'm sure there's tons more they could and should add to that for versatile gaming. If it's anything like the original Mortal Kombat games (the first game having a short list of characters, the second having a bit bigger list, the third having an even bigger list, and so on), then this one should have a monumentally huge list, especially considering just how many DC superheroes there actually are. Furthermore, I hate how they said "Ya know, because superman wouldn't actually kill someone in the comics, he's not gonna kill them in this game, so we have them do Brutalities which are still the same as fatalities, but they just don't kill. They're just as gruesome though." I don't care if you have superman ripping Liu Kang in half from the crotch up, the gore is what I want to see. To have that kind of political-comic stand against death is kind of...stupid.

Anyways, thought I'd share that link with you guys, but I had to rant on the stupidity of some ideas.

Out of most of the E3 gameplay demonstrations I have watched, the Fallout 3 gameplay demo stands out as one of the most stupidest one, in my opinion. It is already bad enough that the guy demoing the game said things like: "...We have a number of weapons where you can blow people up..." when showing the list of weapons but the worst is the V.A.T.S. system, which is nothing more than pause the game, choose a target, and BAM! Guy goes down and was decapitated.

Dumb presentation and a game which is pretty stupid itself.

I think This is Vegas game is quite cool, based on the screenshot that ive saw, the graphics is good... but i havnt seen the demo so i cant comment yet on the gameplay..

while the DC vs MK is the stupidiest idea.. because how can the MK characters beat Superman? how? Sonya has Chaku w/ kryptonite??? men thats insane

Why is it insane? Lex Luthor is just an above average intelligence human, and he's constantly found ways to totally screw Superman up in so many inventive ways. Most MK characters are supernatural, and while Sonya versus Superman seems kind of lame, have you thought of Superman versus Goro or Shao Khan, the two most unbelievably brutal members of the MK team?
