The great questions

Post by C Elegans »

What do you think are the greatest, deepest questions of our time that there is still no conclusive answer to?

It could be scientfic, humanitarian or philosophical questions, or a mix of it all.

Do you think these questions will ever be answered?

Hi there C E

guess you knew i had to comment on this one. ;)

I think that the greatest question, although maybe not the deepest, is a political one.

How do we make a society (made of humans with all their faults) fair, just and good.

Hi Tom :)

Nice to see my baiting worked out ;)

In terms of importance, I am bound to agree with you. Do you think we will ever have an answer to that question?

There are however many other great questions with other types of importance.

Anyone else?

Why?
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I think it is clear that the question has different answers depending on what society you are looking at. That is not meant as a relativistic stament but rather the obvious point that a 12 century society needs a different aproach than a 21. century one.

I think that for any given society there is one or more optimal state(s) of afairs.

As to your question - i think maybe you have an idea of what my answer is. I am a socialist and i think for the 20/21 century the scandinavian model is the closest we have at the moment.

This can be and thankfully is still debated alot. just one point could perhaps be that all the scandinavian countries have a high rate of suicide.

anyway...

SAD.

Seasonal something Depression.

Lack of sunshine/long winter nights may have something to do with that.

The universe...
How big is it?
What was there before there was an universe?
If you go far enough south in the universe will you end up back where you started?
If so, what is there around it then?
Ect.

I actually think about this, if someone knows the answer(s) PLEASE let me know...

Why is it when ever you are involved with someone, there seem to be ladies crawling out of the woodwork trying to get with you, but when you are single, they disappear.
