High Level Enchanting on one's own? Cheese or not?
As I advance through the game I'm finding that my character is becoming very skilled at enchantments, including Constant Effect.
This is all a result of possessing much skill at Alchemy, using Sri's Alchemy (yes it stops you from making "fortify intelligence" potions, but it allows you to make "fortify enchant" potions), Magical Trinkets of Tamriel (some of the items you find have significant enchantment room), and so forth..
Now, what I'm musing upon is just how cheesy this is..
On one hand, it does seem to be a bit overpowered.. But, it's not as though having the cash to pay for enchanted items is a problem in this game, and there's a certain satisfaction in being able to do it yourself.
Also, even from a role playing perspective it makes some sense.. It seems odd to me that a character who is both Arch Magister of House Telvanni and Arch Mage wouldn't be able to create their own enchantments.
Thoughts?

Well it could be considered an exploitation, but heck, if you're AM of House Telvanni then your obviously evil and all in favour of exploitation as long as it's you doing the exploiting. Slavery is obviously OK to your character, so it doesn't make sense that she/he would quibble about exploiting her/his own enchanting abilities.

Actually... my character isn't evil... more like a combination of chaotic neutral and chaotic good.. and she's opposed to slavery too... Indeed, the Building Up Tel Uvirith mod I'm using (see my post in the mod sticky) actually expands on the Twin Lamps faction.
So, it's probably more a case of using power to a "better end."

Well if you're chaotic then rules and restrictions are restrictions on your liberty enforced by authoritarian fascists and therefore you should have the freedom to exploit however you want.
Somewhere between neutral and good? Hmm, and how is my old friend Gothren in good health is he? How about the nice chap who donated that bow that you gave to Therana, happy is he?
Joshing aside, as you pointed out DW with all the excess cash floating around in Vvardenfell any enchantment you can make you can buy, no need to feel any sort of guilt or have any doubts IMO.
The one thing I do consider as cheesy though to be honest is Magical Trinkets of Tamriel, I personally found that to be too cheesy by far ...... but also too nice to resist
The Ioun Stones are IMO over the top, I try to forgo the pleasure of using those, there are also too many of them.

lol! Well Chaotic Neutral does allow for some deviations from the straight and narrow...
It's not my fault if doddering old Gothren can't handle that times are a changing...
As far as the bow goes, you don't need to do that quest to get to Arch Magister, or, at least, I didn't anyway.
Sure..the reward is certainly nice for those who want it.. but this character is actually staying unarmoured, which helps maintain game balance. Plus, I'm roleplaying a type of mage/kensai character. She's skilled in long blades and destruction, and the only armour she wears are the Boots of the Apostle, because of the unarmoured bug.
In terms of Great Houses, the other thing to note, is that Telvanni is the only one that is honest, in my view anyway. The other two, Hlaalu especially, are rife with corruption...
Telvanni doesn't try to pretend they are pure and virtuous
You are right about MTT being a bit cheesy, I'm having to exercise restraint in what I use...

I totally agree about Hlaalu, a right bunch of crooks, I do like the Redoran though, even Venim at least has enough honour to insist on a duel. I'm more than a bit bushed right now (5.15 am, been watching A's & Mariners) but I can't think off-hand of any serious corruption in House Redoran.
It was always the skirt quest in HT that got me, I never thought of getting the slave to put it on, so always avoided that quest.
