Wizards and Warriors on XP

Post by GawainBS »

It installed just fine. Whenever I try to run it, in Win95/98 compatibility, I get an error message. I uploaded screenshots of it.
I read through the tech-help thread on ironworks, but all the XP related fixes start from the premis that the game at least starts up, if I get it right.
I got a P4 1.8Ghz, 1270mb RAM, GForce 6200 (256 mb RAM), WinXP Pro SP2.

Thanks for any help in advance!

I tried to run the game for the first time in years after our interchange the other day. I got as far as leaving town before the game froze an I had the same error message as your top one.

I last played this game in '05 evidently, and I remember having to mess about with AVIs to get it working, but wok it did. I did make one terrible mistake since then though, I installed SP2! I can't remember why I did it, but I've regretted it ever since.

Blasted, I can't even get it to load up. I read on Ironworks about the avi-messing, but I'd be glad I'd get to that part.
Maybe when I get my new PC, I should have a dualboot XP/Win95...

Thanks for the advice so far.
