That's one pretty spider, you can see it belongs to the same order as the Black widow, what a pity I didn't see one when I visited NZ! Well, I saw many other beautiful creeps, esp lovely colourful frogs :)

@Tybaltus: I have only seen Black widows in a terrarium, they were fairly large and had a clear, blood red pattern on the rear end of a spherical, black body. I think there are many different types, all are not as striking looking.

Phobia for spiders is also very common, since this thread is for discussing what is wrong with people, I could mention that the most common phobias are: social phobia, phobia for heights, darkness, flying and insects/other small animals. Phobia for injections and/or blood is fairly common too. My very first patient had a severe phobia for heights, kind of ironic for me as an old alpinist.
