all righty then...might at well keep this going just a wee bit longer.

I have NEVER had to install a patch to a game before...can someone tell me how...step by step, play by play, blow by blow...just pretend I'm computer illiterate, okay ;)

It will probably d/l as a zip file (in which case you might need winzip fromURL=http://www.winzip.com]here ) , you will need to extract it to somewhere if it does (i say desktop) then just run the .exe file and it should work :)

I don't think it will be any more complicated than that.[

As for the Torment patch, it's in an .exe format so all you have to do is run it and the patch will be applied.

It seems that the link from gamebanshee (given by BGfun) is not working. Try to download from the game's Official Site

A warning..If you have the two dics version like I do...putting the patch on it will cause it to not recongize disc two. I believe you will then be forced to put the whole game on your harddrive, or reload the whole game.

(You will still have your saves though if you reload, just make sure to delete the auto save and any save you used with the patch..or it will crash right off the bat.)

@ Weasel...that's exactly what it did...so I didn't progress any further and just uninstalled, because I would rather run off the disc then put anything further on hard drive...

@ Demis I found if I replaced the ftp:// with http:// it did run...but because of above problem I had to uninstall and reinstall game.

...so it looks like the only solution to my problem is going to be getting a new video card...thanks one and *all* for your suggestions, advice and patience on helping me with this.

If anything else goes wrong I know where to turn to...

Have a great day

Cheers

BTW,I deleted my override, cache and temp folder contents as well. Before you reload check it and make sure no files are in it. The other folders shouldn't matter.

Well come to find out it was my hardware acceleration key...it was down to almost NONE..so I boosted it up and problem solved.

Glad to have saved myself a few bucks too...at least temporarily.

So I'm back in business, thanks for all the replies, you've all been a great help. :D

If I have anymore questions I know where to come.

Cheers to you all
