I am in the neverwinter archives trying to open the vault,i have obtained the caretaker's veil but can't seem to use it.i tried equipping it on different characters but it was of no use.Do i have to do something else to access the pedestals?

Do you mean you tried equipping it and couldn't, or you put it on and nothing changed? It's a hat, and putting it on should make books visible on the pedestals.

If you do a search on "veil" you'll find some other threads about this problem, but the answer always seems to be to patch your game.

when i equip the veil,my character image changes,but when i go near the pedestals there seems to be no change.i have MotB installed v1.10.when i try to update it shows some kind of error and cancels the update .Should i reinstall the game?
