Sneak - Possible Spoiler

How do I use "Sneak"? How is it activated? How do I get a hight level? It's about the only thing I haven't tried to get the Redoran Master Helm.

If I get out of the room with it, with them chasing and trying to end my life, can I come back at a later date and time without them both trying to kill me and the guard fining me? Right now I don't have 3,000 gold. Do I have to get 3,000 as the price for getting the Helm?

I've tried invisibility potions, scrolls, and chameleon (20 percent). But I get caught every time, even when I try to combine them, which maybe they can't be combined? Thanks

You need to hold down the Ctrl key and depending on how skilled you are, a gold coloured icon will pop up on the lower left screen when you are in fact "sneaking."
Sneaking can be greatly facilitated by chameleon effects (not invisibility), but your skill at it still needs to be relatively decent.

Thanks. This game seems to have a steep learning curve. Would there be a document somewhere that I could download that would have these tips or explain the many and varied ways to control play fare? I don't have the game manual
