Hi. I formatted my computer recently. Re-installed Windows XP. I did not delete the game files. When I tried to run the game, it didn't start because 'd3dx9_27.dll' file was not found. It is advising me to re-install the game. My worry is, if I re-install it, will I lose all my saved games? I have saved the saved games in My Documents and some more files of Oblivion stored in "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data" .
Will copying them back to their original directory do? Should I go ahead with re-installing without the fear of losing my saved games? Or do I have to do something else?
Please do help, I do not want to lose my saved games.
Thank You!!

Shouldn't be a problem

Since alll the saved games are stored separately in "My Documents" in the "Games" folder and "Oblivion" subfolder, reinstalling the game won't delete the saves. Just make sure you reinstall all the same patches and mods. When you start the game your saved games should be there ready to load.

Hmmkay.. My fear is, what if the reinstalled game doesn't accept those files and calls them corrupt? It has happened with some of the other games as well. That's the main reason for me posting this post.. :)
