Levitation Problems

Post by Kohlerms »

Recently I have been experiancing a problem with the ingame levitation. When I attempt to levitate I am unable to rise, and it sounds like my character is repeatedly jumping. I have tried using items, spells, potions, and the vivec shrine in order to levitate but I am getting the same problem with each. The odd thing about this is that this is not the first time that I have levitated and it had been working in the past.

Probably a stupid question... but to eliminate possibilities..
you aren't by any chance trying to levitate in Mournhold are you?

Strange...

Are you running any mods?

Other than that, the only thing I can think of is that your game somehow became corrupted or you have a bug of some description.
Hopefully the more technical minds here can help you out further.

Does the levitation icon come up on either bar (bottom right, or top of the Spell Menu)?

I know from experience that if you have the Atronach birthsign you can absorb the spell and therefore not levitate. The same can happen with Resist Magicka, or even reflect, but in my experience that shouldn't affect potions, but maybe I've just been lucky. Whatever, if you absorb, resist or reflect the spell the icon wouldn't come up.

So if it does come up, the spell should be active, and looking up and moving forward should make you 'fly'.
