I downloaded <shivering isles> and when it said i could go find it,, I swam out and there was lots of water plus a guard and a kajiit, dog paddling in the ocean, but it said i found the island !!!
Swam back to shore and thought okee dokee then /shrug and left for Crowhaven ,, got inside and there are HUGE blue arrows floating around chests and over the vamp i needed to kill... kinda like-- Here He Is --
There's no way to unload the expansion, just download over and over, and i Really want it gone, if this is the outcome for having it. I tried uninstalling the main game and the exp. went too..but now i can't get my old save games back, it says im lacking some content and it won't bring anything up. then it says error, oblivion needed to shut down......ok, ive made a decision : This is Not funny :(

No, not at all funny. Not funny 'haha' anyway.

So, ok, your save-games are corrupted. There is sod-all you can do about it in my experience. But are ALL your save-games corrupted, or only your most recent ones? If only the most recent, you can go back to find the last uncorrupted game - annoying to lose play time, but not a dead loss. If ALL are corrupt, then delete them and just start over. Yeah, I know, a real expletive deleted moment, but I never found any other way out.

A suggestion, in case you didn't already do it: defragment. It takes a little time if you haven't done it for a while, but is well worth it. Elder Scrolls games like to be installed into a nice, clean, tidy environment; well, so do any games, but Elder Scrolls games particularly so. And update your antivirus and run an antivirus check. You never know! THEN make your clean install, including Shivering Isles - it's a great fun expansion!

Good luck!
