Actually public transport makes no difference to me either way... When I'm here, there's no public transport to speak of anyway, so pubs are either walking or driving... And in Southampton, pubs are within walking distance

I agree in principle though, but I think the public transport closing at midnight is a result of the pubs closing earlier, rather than the other way around

That's alright Kayless. Since our politics have changed over the past 200 years, the US laws are more "British" than ours.
