well i uninstalled the two updates, and re-installed them, now i have a 360 elite and my friend has a 360 that ust had the hardrive(whiteone) and he installed the two patches and now he can play Goty without the Goty disc, but i borrowed the disc that he used to update and now i have to have the disc in order to play Goty, someone help me understand why this is happening.
also, can you still do the soultrap glich that you could do in Morrowind in order to increase your attributes permenatly?

That's because Bethsoft, not unexpectedly, wants each person who uses the disk to buy one. 
Either that, or expect to share a disk with your friend.
