You know, I always thought Kan Hua was a better helper than Nasrudin ;)

Killing everyone in Stillwater is a requirement though...

Please give it a time, guy--bumping's not allowed, and you know Arcanum isn't exactly going to rock the forums off their feet. ;) With luck, you may get a response in a day or so. I'm afraid that although it's a good game, not many people play it.

Aggravate the guards near the pit (the one behind the palace), they'll throw you in and you can escape then.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to look for the exit/entrance. That one's a bit hard to find since it's off the map, but here's the GB walkthrough instructions:
Stairs down to the Dernholm dungeon (to the northwest). If you have trouble locating the stairs, start at the statue near the entrance to the town, hold down the left and up arrow keys, and keep clicking the upper left corner of your screen. You should find the stairs next to a tree.

There's no easier way to find it since you're not actually supposed to find it (go figure)

Thanks, Brother None, for dropping in to the thread. How recently have you played Arcanum?

A few months back, but my disc is scratched up now. DAMN YOU, DISC.

It remains one of my favourite games, but I must say I'm sometimes disappointed at its replayability, considering its potential. Too many glaring flaws. Like those...those...mines. Ugh.

Yes, they were bad. The last time I played, the game crashed there, and I gave it for a bad business.

Though to my tastes, the worst thing in it was the combat AI, which you were forced to use for your party. I used to scream at the computer while it did something very dumb, and became quite hoarse very early on, because that happened all the time.

Maybe the guards only throw u in the pit if you have been given the quest from Kan Hua to find the halfling, I suspect that the dungeon is fairly high level as you have to be a fair way through the main quest line to get that quest, and it could be difficult no matter what end you entered it from. Perhaps if you haven't got the dog he could help you out.
