some information required regarding level up

Post by eidand »

Hi guys,

I played the game until lvl 8 and then decided to do some more reading and finally wanted to play in such a way that I get 3 +5 stat increases / level.

My major skills are :

Blade,
Light Armour
Destruction
Armourer
Sneak
Mysticism
Illiusion

I like them this way because they give me control over the speed of my levelling up. If you notice I chose exactly 1 skill in each stat as major.
I did overlevel some of them, not much but a bit, as when you start the game even if you move a finger you level up something. Now that i hit lvl 12 some skills don't lvl up that fast and I don't over level too much at all, which is good.
I only really trained 3 stats so far which are STR (95), Willpower (can't be remember it's getting close to 80 I think) and Endurance which is now 90 or so.
The way I train is very simple. I vary hand-to-hand and blunt until their sum is 7 and then I switch to blade for the final 3 lvls.
I quickly get 3 lvls in destruction and then I don't do anything apart from healing myself until everything else is done. when this happens I usually need to get 2-3 alteration lvls and i hit 10 in this as well.
For Endurance I simply wear a heavy armour until it reaches 6 lvls and repair it a lot after each fight. usually I stop when i have 3 lvls in armourer and i am very close of hitting the 4-th. then I take off the armour and continue like this.

at the moment this type of leveling worked out pretty well. my heavy armour skill is 73 - almost 74, blade is a bit low - closing in on 50 , armourer is over 70.
Once I hit 100 in STR and END i plan to train other skills like light armour or whatever.
The question is what happens to my blade and armourer skills once I max STR and END which will happen within 2 lvls. Any advances in these skills will count towards next lvl, but i will still need to get 3 +5 in other skills.
So how will this work now ?
As far as I know all skills are locked (for that lvl) once you get 10 increases in major skills. however if I want to traint INT and Spd for example and continue with Wil how will this happen if I continue using my blade in order to get it to Master lvl ?
so let's say I get 3 major SPD increases, 2 Wil and 2 INT, 2 blade and 1 armourer. Now I have 10 increases but will they give +5 in spd will and iNT as long as I have 10 increases overal in each ? I don't want to be stuck training only minors in STR and END so that they don't count towards lvl increases.

Major skills still count toward leveling up even after the related attribute reaches 100. So in your example, you can keep using blade but if you get to 9 major increases and you don't have a total of 10 each in skills related to SPD, WIL and INT yet, you should stop using blade until you do.
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

i suggest you get you endurance up as fast as you can(the sonner its 100 the more health youll have in the long run)
im also 'powergaming' at the moment and i get myself an enemy, block his attacks until my block is 10 levels higher, then i get +5 of another attribute(mostly personality as i train my mercantile five levels every level as its the lamest skill ever, and ive got illusion and speechcraft in my majors) and then i level my luck. this attribute is often overlooked! i increase my luck nearly every level because when you get 100 of every attribute(except luck of course!) your major skills will be so high that you can only level up a few times and then youd have to go to jail to DECREASE(i so hate that word) your major skills to level up. ive had an account of level 46 with 100 of every attribute and the last 5 levels all he had to increase was luck.
but it seems you already have a pretty nice account there!
little question: what race and birthsign are you?
mine was altmer under the apprentice birthsign, which made me have 400 magicka :D could cast pretty nice 'home-made' spells with that one!
