Compatability Problem

Hey, i have a big problem. I own the original "White Box" version of Oblivion and i borrowed the GOTY edition from a friend of mine, i downloaded the disc like i was supposed to but it wont let me play the Shivering Isles and KotN quests without the GOTY disc, but my friend is able to play them without it, can someone explain why this happnes and possibly tell me how to fix it?

I have the original version of the game also and I also recently used a friend's disc for Shivering Isles and KOTN. Mine worked just fine but my guess for why yours isn't working is that you may need to sign into Xbox Live and get the patch that it will ask you to install when you boot up the game while on Live. That should work.
