Falchion called Transcendent Edge?

Post by Krwawy Zarddin »

I have a question about this weapon.

Transcendent Edge
Bonus Feat: Spirit's Ruin
Visual Effect: Sonic

What this bonus feat gives and does anybody try to enchant this weapon to +X and add some elemental dmg?

What is better? 8 dmg or 8 AC ?

I'm new here :)

Welcome to the forums Krwawy Zarddin. :)

Spirit Ruin is a feat given to you by an item only, in this case the falchion. You could find the answer to your question by looking at your character's feat page. Spirit Ruin gives you the ability to score sneak attacks and critical hits on spirits, but only for half the damage that would have been usually dealt to creatures who weren't immune to criticals and sneak attacks. At least, half is better than nothing, no? :D

You could try enchanting it with anything. For weapons, all that you can add with essences will be damage properties. I don't think you can add any AC to weapons. It is all described when you examine the respective essences.

I read somewhere that you can make a weapon with 5k6 fire 5k6 ice and 5k6 lighting dmg and I want to know if you can do it only with normal weapon or with this one too? This weapon can do critics to ANY enemy not only spirits I think.

Good side I take mage

Evil I take fighter

Good: Tiefling, Wizard/Arcane Scholar/???/???

Evil: Earth Genasi, Barbarian/Frenzied Berserker/Weapon Master/??? or Barbarian/Frenzied Berserker/Bard/Red Dragon Discipline

it depends on weapons and how the enchanting system works because Weapon Master +crit is uselles if you atack spirits, undeads and others UNLESS you use Transcendet Edge but if you CAN'T upgrade it to +5k6 fire and 5k6 ice it's uselles ;]

Question is: How much enchants you can put in normal weapon and how much in this sword? If any can check and write ( I can put 5k6 fire 5k6 ice and 5k6 lighting in normal weapon and in Transcendet Edge only 5k6 fire) or something like that please.

Any ideas for these 2 characters?

Before I answer your question, just let me clarify something. Creatures that are immune to crits and sneak attacks include both undead and spirits. Because the Transcendent Edge only has the Spirit Ruin attribute, it can only crit spirtis and not undead.

Each weapon, regardless of class and type has a set number of slots which can be used for enchantments. I think it is around four or five. Which means that since the Transcendent Edge has three properties, you could add two more properties. Or one, if the enchantment cap is four.

Don't forget the constructs (and elementals, although they probably count as spirits).

Three properties?
All it says to me is "Bonus feat: Spirit Ruin" or something like that. Granted, I never understood (bothered to read about) the properties and enchanting, but that doesn't count as three properties, does it?

He means that the weapon has 3 enchantments on it already, and therefore you should be able to add 1 or 2 more, not that this particular enchantment costs 3 slots. However, the cap is 3 enchantments total for any item, so if this one already has 3 you can't add more -- any new ones will replace like for like, or if completely different it should replace the oldest / first one.

Actually, I'm not too sure about the properties of that particular weapon, except that it gives the Spirit Ruin feat. So I just took a potshot guess that it contained 3 enchantments on it. But Xanthar is right, that bonus feat only counts as one slot used up, so you should be able to add two more.

+50 hit means it will add 50 to your attack roll.
