What do you mean by special? Does it drop extra loot or something?

In my experience, loot obtained from treasure chests are pretty randomly generated and I don't think any single one is special or unique in any way.

But this chest has nothing in it, plus I've never seen a chest like it. I just want to know if it duplicates items like that ingredent duplicator in the Arcane University, where you sleep when your a top mage.

Try going back to the cave. If it is still empty, then I don't know what else to say. Can't remember any empty chests in Robber's Glen Cave. Plus I think the only duplication chest is the one you already mentioned, short of any game altering mods.

As I recall, there's only one duplication chest (in the Arcane University). But if you're playing the game on pc, there maybe more depending on what types of plug-ins you've installed as Loki said.

If you're playing on xb360 tho, I'm sure different caves/places will have different or strange looking chests. It doesn't necessarily mean there's something special about it besides its looks. And I wouldn't store anything in 'em either... the only ones I'm well aware that won't lose your things are the 'Guildmaster' chests and the chests that come with plug-ins
(e.g. Frostscrag Spire, Theives Den or Battlehorn Castle even any houses you've bought).

I believe it's part of a quest... One you pick up in one of the cities. Maybe Bruma? The quest about the vampire hunter killing some woman's husband.

I might be totally out to lunch, but I think I did the quest last week sometime.

That is a totally different cave. I know the one you are talking about. You can retrieve an amulet from the chest there.

Well is it a mess up, glitch, bug? I play on 360, so...But if you don't know where it is,(Loki) then search the whole cave agian, its there somehwhere,i dont know exactly, but tell me if you find it, and if you do, try to see if it duplicates low lvl items or whatever. Just see if its for a quest, or for you advantage. :)

Err, haven't played the game in some time, but I can remember Robber's Glen Cave. Pretty sure there is nothing special in there. But, will go try it out later, just in case.

Loki's right, there's no special chest in Robber's Glen Cave. There is one chest that originally contains some Skooma potions, and that chest, unlike all the others in the cave, doesn't re-spawn. So after the first visit it will always be empty if you take the Skooma first time through.
