Some people won't ignitiate dialoge after I finish their quest.

Sometimes after I finish a quest and go back to talk to the appropriate person for the reward, they are busy and cannot ignitiate dialoge with me. WTF I finish everything and then they won't talk to me. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Last time it happened I killed Mae'Var and returned to Renal Bloodscalp and Bloodscalp was busy and blah blah blah. Same thing happened in the Umar Hills when I was done going back and forth from the Orge to the mayor, and I go talk to Madulf for the last time he's busy.
Can someone please help me? I'm tired of getting screwed at the end!

I remember having the same issue a long time ago and patching solved the problem.

Where can I get a patch from? When I quicksave it minimizes the game and goes to my desktop asking if I'd like to quit because saving failed. So I have to click Options and save every time I want to save. Do you think a patch will fix this problem too? Thanks for the replies by the way.

which operating system are you using. I would possibly try reinstalling if the quick save dosn't work. Very strange indeed. Try patching first anyway

Thanks guys the patch fixed the dialogue but not the quick save. I guess I'll just have to hit options every time I want to save. And I am using Windows Vista

yeah, there are a couple of issues with Vista. for one, the CLUA cheats dont work even when debug mode=1. it worked fine on my xp and 2000. i am not too concerned abt the CLUA. i just want ctrl+J to work. saves a lot of time

Yeah that doesn't work either. I was going to use it to jump around to and save time but I can't do that either. I used to play BG2 a long time ago when it first came out and recent events in my life have caused me to have a lot of free time so I installed it again and started playing and haven't stopped playing for a week straight. This game is amazing
