Anybody know where I can download Ruad v19?

Post by fable »

I'd like to try it, and understand the final release, v20, was very buggy. v19 is supposed to pretty bug free.

Since I wondered what on earth Ruad19 was, I ran a Google

I think you can find it here...
Though the download link acted very oddly for me...

Yeah, I'd found that before, and it's not working for me, either. Another site is needed, sadly.

I did hunt around quite a lot more Google, and nothing came up, though I do recall seeing somewhere that the author was asking to be notified if somebody saw it on another site. So maybe he or she doesn't want it to be up anywhere?

Did a good old Alta Vista search and tracked it down here:

Clan DLAN: Traducción de videojuegos, mods, trucos, guías, rol y más. Todo en español.

It's a Spanish language site, but I downloaded it and it gives an English language option when you setup (I think it's Weidu so should be Ok), and the readme was in English. I installed is, so if the dialogue's in Spanish I might be on here at some point seeking help.

That did it! It was a bit difficult to find, given that my Spanish is pretty minor, but I downloaded and installed it. Many thanks!

I remember that old thing. You can download it there but use a download manager like Netants. Just copy the download and Netants will do the rest. Seems like the Mozilla based browsers don't like .exe extensions.

And Opera, too, which is what DW and I both use. Thanks for the second way to catch it. I suspect GetRight would have managed it fine, if I'd just had it running as a TSR instead of using it only on an as-needed basis. Good advice for the future.

Only English and German well enough for reasonable understanding. But if I'm given a generalized text in a Romance language, I can usually puzzle it out through the root words. Which is how I manage with Spanish, French, etc.

Ah. Is that how you know Dutch as well, through German and English? Sorry to take it off topic like that, but it's a subject that always peaks my curiosity.

I did know Dutch well enough to understand, and carry on a faltering conversation, but lost that for lack of reason to continue after my college years. (I'd spent half a year in Amstelveen.)

Ah, you went to ISA then? That would make sense. One of my former flatmates went there for either middle school or college I believe. She has a heavy American accent when she speaks English, despite her Irish heritage. :)

I lived in Amstelveen and went to college in Zuid-Oost for a year before I moved on to Almere, and later Utrecht. I actually have some ambitions in languages that put on ice while I'm studying Philosophy. English is still my minor study though, so I should have fairly easy access to additional Russian and Cantonese courses once I'm done with that.

Still, I'm not getting any younger. I have to admit those ambitions may very well run aground somewhere along the next two years.
