Best Weapon

hello fellow Baldurs GateII players

i'm currently playing a Unded Hunter. going great, enjoying the game.
Kinda just wanted to ask whats the "best" weapon in the game?

For a paladin-character, the best possible weapon is Carsomyr. This two-handed sword is of +5 enchantment, dispels enemy buffs on hit, deals additional +5 damage vs chaotic evil opponents, dispels magic 3 times per day, and grants 50% magic resistance to the wielder.

There is no 'best weapon', although there are a lot of overpowered weapons in the game, but they all are useful to different classes. For instance, the Staff of the Magi will make any wizard-character nigh invincible. But if you play with a solo-warrior type character, you'll have to use different weapons at different times. I'm running a solo Wizard Slayer now, and I'm highly dependant on my entire weapon collection, since all of them come in handy at certain points. For instance, if you play a solo warrior and face a Dragon, you' re most probably dead without the Dragonslayer sword equipped.

I personally like the short bow found in Trademeet that doesn't need arrows.
It is invaluable fighting Golums, particularly Adamantine Golums. (or is it Goli) My Latin isn't good enough to know.

No offense, but we've had this thread many times, before, in various contexts, and the site owner doesn't want thread duplication on the board. That's why we've got a pretty good search engine. Just try searching on the word weapon, and see what turns up.
