Why you should increase Honor
Why you should increase Honor
I am on my second playthrough and just finished the trial of elders, after defeating all four elders i had quite a bit of experince to spend so i increased my bargain skill to 6 (to get better deals) and my honor to 40 (to match the rest of my stats). What i discovered was that i could buy items from any merchant and sell them back to them at a higher cost then i paid, thus making a profit. I was wondering if any one else had done this or if it might be a glitch. However it seems to me that it could be useful in stocking up on spells. (I am playing the collector's edition)
I have also noticed this loophole of the game. Usually I don't exploit the insanity of the merchants. But I like to have some points in honor and bargain to buy low and sell high.
I do raise honor a few points even after the first troll and a few points in bargain. That way I can sell the items I found in the theater for a better deal. And by the time I need a 5th tier class sometimes that honor I put in early allows me to meet the requirements.

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
True i would rather not take advantage of the insane, or cheat. But technically it is not cheating, although feels very similar. However in this game having lots of money helps, not for buying the best items, but rather for stocking up on spells. Most games use money as a way to measure progress thus gaining infinte money puts you way ahead, but not with DL. I used this loophole to increase the number of spells so i don't have to stop and rest as often, or worry about conserving spells, thus enjoying the game more.
Also i found the easiest way to take advantage of this loophole (imo) is in the buying and selling of arcane tomes. What you should do is sell all of your fireball tomes and then buy them back until you are broke. Then sell them all for a profit and repeat until desired income is achevied. I made a little over 1,000,000 dollars in less than thrity minutes selling fireball tomes. I imagine more expensive tomes maybe will achevie this goal quicker, not sure.
(My honor is at 50 and Bargain at 6)

Try selling Divine intervention to the priest in Arindale, They stack, I sold bought again continued this until I had 50. Now one sale nets me 400,000 cash. Need funding quick hit the moonbeam highway and presto we have money for spells again, shoot over to fargrove and buy till the heart is content.
