Im doing the Cheydinhal recommendation,and I went down into the well,but the guy that has the ring wasn't down there.The first time I was down there he was there,and I took the ring,but I couldn't move so I dropped it and I went down there a 2nd time,but he wasn't there.
If you dropped the ring, it might just be floating around.
