Having no end of trouble with the companions. Didn't pick up the druid at all, and didn;t realise till later she should ahve appeared, and since the first visit to the farm at highcliffe the others are very difficult to control, and don't follow....
When i got to neverwinter i found the druid in the inn, but she is still not grouped with us, and the others still don't like to follow.
Any advice?
Thanks

I'm gonna use names, so there's no spoiling. If you know their names, then you've met them. If not, you won't know until you do; and are forewarned when you do.
Not sure what you mean by "follow". If they refuse to join the party, I guess you've hit a bug. Hopefully you've saved somewhere near. I make it a habit to save before entering the tavern, just in case. I've hit some problems with Elanee not being in the party after exiting the tavern despite having chosen her in the group.. ending up with 1 less member. She refuses to join me after that, but a reload fixed it up.
If you're complaining about the AI acting on its own and not what you want, then I suggest setting the Behavior of all party members AI (including yourself) to Puppet Mode. Be warned that they will not not react to anything at all, even if they're under attack!
As to the druidess not joining you, that's some serious bug I never encountered before. She should've'd joined you after a cut scene where she reveals herself.
Also a known problem is meeting Casavir. He will attack Khelgar when entering the tavern at times. So save before you enter, and reload until he stops attacking. Weird bug that can be fixed with subsequent reloads.
Not checked which Patch fixes these up, but patching the game is the best option.

Slightly Spoilered
When i enter a new area they stand by the world transition point. They will usually turn up for combat, but they take some input to get them to do anything useful.
Thanks for the advice on the other stuff though. CAn't figure out why the druid isn't joined up as she speaks to me as if she is, in the inn in neverwinter...wierd
nor did i get the cut scene or access to maidens glade area....
Thanks again

having the movement problem as well, 4 of the characters just stand there doing nothing, (yes puppet mode is turned off) i can directly control them but when i swap to another character they return to just standing there getting smacked on,
game is still playable assuming i never use these characters but it makes it insanely hard when one of there characters have to be in the party or whatever reason

I do believe you mean Puppet Mode is "ON"? Puppet Mode basically means that the characters are puppets. You need to give them orders or they will not take any action at all. If you do not like this, I suggest you turn puppet mode "OFF". This means the characters will react according to the behaviour settings you choose for skill/item/spell use further down the tab.
Also, Please note that the "ALL" button next to the settings only affect the current party members you have. If you switch a character into the party, you'd best check the behaviour for him/her.
I do not know if their behaviour resets for any reason, like if they were removed for plot reasons and the like; so you might want to check their behavior when you swap someone into your active group anyway. It seldom happens to me since I play them all as puppets, although I do notice that an newly introduced character would not be puppet mode.
Also, take note of the commands you can broadcast and issue to characters from shift-right-clicking on the active controlled character to other members of the party; this includes your avatar. The issued commands only affect the character assigned, while the broadcast commands affect all except the broadcaster. What this means is if you do broadcast/assign commands, do not expect everyone to react in any expected manner if you swap your actively controlled character.
Take heart though, that while what I posted seem to make party controlling them all in combat... err.. like excrement, (Sorry mods
) it's not all that bad once you get the hang of issuing commands and how the AI react to things.... with liberal use of the spacebar to pause the action and micro-managing a character as necessary.
My advice? Use the spacebar liberally. Learn to play each one in puppet mode for max party cohesion to optimize combat performance or item and spell use. I personally don't like the AI, as it seems better suited to parties that do not expect to see another battle before resting.

As to the druid not joining, like I said, I believe it's a bug. I fixed it with a reload.. I was lucky I had a save not too far back. She will speak like she is in your party no matter what, since she's expected to join you and the programmers have not scripted a not-in-party version of her dialog. It does feel odd sometimes, but generally, the scripts can be taken to be either way, so no real biggie. As to that cutscene to the glade, I believe you have the option not to go there, I'm unsure.. not tested yet.

no puppet mode is off, and the characters in question do nothing, its as if the ui simply refuses well, everything, and the character refuses to move from the starting location i can control them manually but i need to move each character witch is a pain to say the least.
Check that you have not left the broadcast command "Stay where you are" as the last command. It might be the reason why you need to action each character manually. Even with the Puppet Mode = "ON", they should follow the active character around unless specifically ordered otherwise. If that is still not the case... I'm afraid I cannot help.stormwing wrote:no puppet mode is off, and the characters in question do nothing, its as if the ui simply refuses well, everything, and the character refuses to move from the starting location i can control them manually but i need to move each character witch is a pain to say the least.
