Sort of Spoilerish.
Yes there should be a Red Band on his corpse that you need to put on in order to obtain admittance to the Forbidden grotto.
And lo ye must learn of the great war that raged fo a couple of posts and brought the citadel momentaraly to its knees
Lookie!

I tend to appear briefly and disappear very quickly after that, try not to let it bother you.

I'm having a similar problem, for some reason even though I know the bands are there I can't access them and it won't let me through the door without them
I can feel the warp overtaking me. It is a good pain!

For any who didn't

kill him yet, he is willing to give you the bands of the choosen if you do a task for him. It's simple really, you free his xivilia (spelling) in it's lair. Apparently, some of the immortals outsmarted it and trapped him, and Kathutet can't let it continue. He'll fill you in more on the task, that is if you didn't kill him yet.
Hindsight is 20/20.
