how can you tell how much influence you have with a member of your party?
i am trying to complete a quest that requires me to have a high influence with one of my char and i can't tell how far i have to go.
thanks in advance for answers
influence????
I was wondering the same thing.
Sometimes after dialogue it says that the influence is +1 with a character (or -1 or +2 etc). Some characters the walkthrough says that to complete a quest you need to raise the influence to a certain number and then talk to them.
I'm not sure if influence starts out at zero or if it is different for each character based on circumstance.
I do know it affects the dialogue and scripting of the game and it would be nice to know what it is.

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

AFAIk you can see your influence with the different characters by using a console command that pops up a little influence editor. If you don't want to mess around with it, just don't change anything. The console command is:
rs kr_influence
I also vaguely remember that there was a way of looking the influence up by opening one of the game files, but I don't remember which one.

What does influence do ultimately?
I know for Khelgar influence is required to complete his quests. But do their alignment change according to yours? Like In KOTOR II?
What good does it do? Other than that silly song Grobnar sang, what better things comes from good influence?

In the end, everything will be alright. If it is not alright, it is not the end.
