why does it run slow????

Post by bebacha »

I have a core2 duo e6600
superclocked 8800gtx
2 gigs corsair ddr2800 ram
p5n32 e asus motherboard
windows xp pro sp2

it runs fine maxed out indoors, but when outside, especially on a horse or around npc's or creatures it is very slow and glitchy. Is there anything I can change? it seems like I should be able to run the game with maxed settings with no problems.

Installing new drivers might help but the problem is more to the game engine itself. There are many hardware benchmarks on the net regarding graphics card performances on Oblivion like this certain article from Tom's Hardware. :)
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
