Fair Magicka Regeneration

Post by joe05 »

... does it conflict with any mods ?

It does not come with a read me ... plus all the mod threads mention no conflict ... I even noted a thread where Fable and DW had "many" mods installed(... did not notice Fair Magicka Regeneration), and were fine; no conflicts.
Reason, I ask is, the regeneration is not working ?

I have nowhere near the number others have installed = I thought maybe it was being pushed out due to memory issues

I watch the load up screen and only see a few of my mods being installed ... the main game(s) + a few of the bigger ones(...Mournhold Expanded / Haldenshore)
Before, I'd see Fair Magicja Regeneration 1/2 being installed; not now.

I only have 10 installed.......> Mournhold Expanded; Abu's Retreat; Acheron's Camping Gear 2; Fair Magicka Regeneration(1/2); dh furniture(... all 4); Haldenshore; Suran Archery Store; Suran Hillside Manor; Arya; Better Bodies

I did not see Fair Magicka Regeneration listed in any of the other read me files.

I opted for Apprentice over Antronach to use the regeneration (...I hate chugging potions).
If I'd known it would not work, I'd have liked the 50% spell absorbtion :-)

It's normal for just a few of your installed mods to appear when they are loading, that doesn't mean they aren't there though.
I shudder to think how long my game would take to start if they did...

Why do you say it's not working? Is it not doing what it's supposed to in-game?

Does it show up in your Data Files check list (the screen you get to from the first start up screen) ? If so, have you double-clicked on the little box beside it?

Just trying to narrow things down here ;)

Hi DW ... glad to Amalexiais "no more" :-)

I did find the read me ... mainly calculations

Yes, the plugin is in my Data Files.
I only kept two ... 1/2 and 1
Do I need to keep all 4 ? ... since I would not use the other two, I figured why clutter up my Data Files even more; so I deleted the lower two

Both show up when I load the game under Data Files ... 1/2 is "X"

Before, on my mod meshes meltdown; it worked ? ... I believe I kept all 4 plugins at this time ?
Now it doesn't.
The magicka bar does not move ... I'm on day 3 :-)

... still no regeneration

Tried to "X" 1% ... but the game noted Master File changes/may cause game
problems etc
Put the "X" back in 1/2% ... no error messages now; still no regeneration

Thought maybe I needed to specialize in magic ?
Created a new character.
Made sure the mod was "X".
Bought Hearth Heal, walked out the door, used it ... still no regeneration

I'd rather not re-do :-)
I'm at the point of stealing everything I can, to buy my spells and armor.
It's fun, but tedious.
Up to Sadith Mora ... then Vivec ... then other towns available by slit rider
Figure another 6-8hrs of stealing and I can start fighting/questing.
If I knew how to fix it, I'd start over, but I'm almost done with the "stealing" :-)

I hate to cheat, but I will if I can; in this case.
The only way I can tnink of is to set my magicka "high" ... monitor my use of spells vs INTL and my level = I have a rough idea of how fast my bar should regenerate from my last character
No big usage spells = my Alteration/Illusion/Mysticsm is to help me fight etc, not the main attack(...Bow and Spear)
So, the spells won't chew up much ... looks like Hide will be the biggest magicka reducing spell; at this point

Anyone have other ideas ?

MageLord - thanks.

Well we ran into the "Meshes" error messages again.
Soon as I hit Suran.
I'm positive I extracted to Desktop > copy > paste all folders to the relevant Folders in Data Files.
I even copy/paste them individually to make sure.
Something isn't right ... I saw Meshes folder inside the Data Files/Meshes folder ... in fact, Icons, Meshes, Sounds, Textures all had folders within folders, with the same name ?

Had to delete Morrowind; again.
Now I'm frustrated.

Will try again.

That's not correct. You should have folders within Meshes, but they should feature one or two letters, defining the type of file and the letters of the alphabet those files begin with. If the entire contents of a mod archive is under Meshes, then it wasn't properly dearchived.

I do it by opening the archive, and dragging its folders onto the proper Morrowind folder: meshes, textures, sounds, etc. That's always worked, for me.

... I do appreciate all the help; from everyone !
I will get this to work; I have to :-)
I figure, 3 more play-throughs and I'd be done without modding = I like this game too much to "give up"
----------------
Ok, I knew the folder within a folder with the same name(...Meshes for example) had to wrong.
Just couldn't figure out how to do it.

De-archive ... this is a new term for me
I do see your "point/understand what you want me to do" Fable, can I implement your instructions is another matter.

I took the morning off and am well rested.
I'm going to cut my mods back and see if I can get this to work.
I should know by tonight ... I'll walk out of the Seyda Neen tradehouse, use a spell, see if I get regeneration ... then head to Suran, see if I get a Meshes error

I do see new buildings ... one behind Balmora; one past the second bridge in Seyda Neen ...plus I think Haldenshore is partially visible

Ok, I will try to de-archive ... seems I need to go one step further ?
I copied the Meshes mod folder to Meshes Data File folder etc, I guess I need to open that mod folder/Meshes, and copy each folder within, then paste to the corresponding Data Files Folder.
If I see two similar folders again, I know I'm still not de-archiving.

I hope I get it.
If not, I will make a thread of exactly what I did = hopefully, somone can point to the step I'm messing up

Thank you; Fable.

... ok; we're good-to-go
Well, so far :-)

My regeneration is working + I took the slit rider to Suran ... no Meshes error
Did see the dh furniture building = did not go in
In the process of stealing to buy my "essentials".

Fingers crossed :-)
-----------------------
I couldn't figure how to "drag" from one screen to the other, so I "cut".
Luckily I rembered how to "cut" multiple items ... the Textures folder for some mods were huge(... when all are installed, this Folder may scroll for minutes - LOL)

-----------------------

I only put in 6 mods = baby steps

I see new mods are added daily at planetelderscrolls.

Thanks to everyone !!!

Hi Joe,
it sounds as though you are beginning to get the mod thing sorted out, but in case you want any extra information, I actually just stumbled across this page over at Planet Elderscrolls.
It presents some instructions for mod extraction in a fairly straightforward manner.

If you think it's traumatic putting in a mod or two, Joe, wait until you decide at some future point to stop playing and then reinstall Morrowind with, say, 200 of your favorite mods! Took me the better part of a day to get it all set up. :D
