Hassour Base Baddie
Hassour Base Baddie
Well I plucked up the courage for my level 10 mage to go into the base and kill the baddie. When I got to who I thought was the baddie, he fell into the lava and dissapeared. I am assumming he died...but does that count as me killing him? Am I better to load a saved game and plunder his body or should I thank the lovely red stuff for making my job so easy?
That's a tricky one. You can't be sure he's dead just because he fell on lava. You don't die straight away by doing that, so he could be hiding out in some niche if he made it. Also, on some rare occasions, it has happened to me that my character just fell through the floor and kept falling through some weird pink space forever (scary!). So unless you see the body, I wouldn't be sure.

Ohh dear, I ran around the cave looking for him but he wasn't anywhere. I have tried to look in the lava for his body but nothing. It looked like he melted!
I like the prospect of not fighting him and getting out of the base...its freaking me out! I have gotten used to playing without sound coz it scares the poo out of me when it thunders or some scary music occurs haha!
I don't want to make the trek back to balmora then back to the base if I don't have to.
Thanks, I hope he isn't hiding waiting to stalk me or something.

The 'target' for the Hassour quest is Dagoth Fovon, who is an Ash Ghoul (not a humanoid). He's found in the Hassour shrine, not Hassour itself (there's a door in Hassour that leads to the shrine). If Dagoth Fovon was dead your journal would be updated, stating 'I have slain the dark and powerful Dagoth Fovon.' even if you don't land the killing blow yourself.

Ash Ghouls are pretty distinctive, having snouts instead of human faces, they also reflect spells and cast drain health on you.

And their bodies are quite a bit bigger, so if it had been an ash ghoul, you would have realized that it wasn't human.galraen wrote:Ash Ghouls are pretty distinctive, having snouts instead of human faces, they also reflect spells and cast drain health on you.
Edit: as I remember it, I met the ash ghoul just inside the cave door, not in the shrine. But I could be mixing it up with some other place.
