question for the warlock players (minor SPOIL)

Post by kyle »

Anyone else feel a little nerfed after Ammon's Haven while playing a Warlock? Specifically with the knighting ceremony where you're supposed to rescue Nasher, that first fight in the throne room with the vampires and wraiths is pretty difficult for most characters, but it seems especially hard for the Warlock; I was having fun playing an Aasimar Warlock up until this point.

Nope, it can be a tough battle, but my Warlock/Rogue kicks @rse and this area was pretty easy. I did have a bit of a tough time with my mage/AT, particularly because I wasn't prepared for the fight(s).

As a warlock, always having your skeleton summoned (if you chose that) might help significantly, just to absorb attacks even if he isn't dealing any dammage.

My first time through with a gnome bard with 6 strenghth, just couldnt do enough dammage to take down anything quickly. Had to reload quite a few times.

Yeah, you either need a lot of melee damage for this area, or some decent spellpower, especially fire.

Chain and Brimstone blast are your friends here, and a skele doesn't hurt either.

My second try, I ended up parking myself behind a doorway, where only one attacker at a time could come after me, even though they all tried since they were all getting hit by my walls of fire (can't remember that Warlock spell's name, but it's a good one). Easy.
Now that I look back at my question - I guess I was just complaining that I couldn't win in a stand-up fight... against powerful Vampires and a mass of wraiths... come to think of it, that's actually good design, forcing people to think rather than hack n' slash.
