Easy Way to Beat The Handmaidens (Spoilers)

Post by DarthMalevolent »

If your character's a Consular, I've always had trouble beating the Handmaiden Sisters at the Telos Academy... dunno if it's been posted before, but I found a fairly easy way to accomplish it.

If your wisdom is high enough that your force powers can affect them, use Force Push or better yet Force Whirlwind to knock them out of the combat area. Once they're out, they're out of contention for the title. I managed to knock all but one out and finished her off easily.

Hope that helps somebody. :)

Wow! I got to tell you, DarthMalevolent this has to be the second time you've helped me out tonight!

I have always had trouble beating the Handmaidens on this class, and must admit, avoid it whenever anything short of a Jedi Guardian. Now that you've posted your 'spoiler' I will be sure to test it out next time I'm in the area.

Before you try it, I should warn you - when I run a consular character, I really push the wisdom stats high to the detriment of everything else except for charisma (because I use both LS and DS powers), and it does take quite a high wisdom to overcome the handmaiden sisters' defense.

Has anyone ever managed to beat them as a Sentinel or Guardian without strong Force Powers? It's the one bit of the game I've never managed to do, although I've spent hours trying and even tried to build characters with this fight in mind...

I played a Guardian a long time ago and was never able to beat the Handmaidens either. Could be that I didn't allocate the stats properly or I was just very unlucky. :(
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

Here's another solution:
Place mines on the battlefield before confronting them. Battle starts, battle won ;)

You just have to have enough mines and sufficient demolitions skill of course. Average Frag/Sonic/whatever mines should suffice.

Other things that can be helpful in this battle are force speed, stimulants, and flurry of course. And one more thing: Re-equip your armor right when the battle starts! It is totally legal in the last few battle, but it isn't possible anymore once you're infight.

I must admit I actually had more problems with the first few fights playing as a consular or a sentinel as you were limited to hand to hand combat only. Optimizing your equipment for maximum hand to hand dmg and defense can be helpful here.

Anyway, I'm playing on the highest difficulty level and always managed to get through somehow. Just be a little inventive and everything should work out fine.

In case you're playing as a Jedi Guardian just forget all I said and hit away.

Hope I could help.

So long,
Sol

Most of the time when I've beaten them as a Sentinel or Guardian, I've used an adhesive grenade to hold them in place, then lobbed grenades at them from the far end of the combat area.

The mines idea is a good one too.

I must be wierd and different because I've tried as a Guardian with 16 STR and 16 CON and 2 levels of Toughness and taken all the stims there are before the battle and still been pwned 20 or more times haviong only killed 2 of them.

I nust be missing something. What feats do you use?

I won't say I lose to them more often than not, but I do lose to them enough that I save my game right before the final fight with all 5, just in case I need to try it again. With Guardian/Sentinel characters, I make sure I've got Master Two-Weapon Fighting and Master Flurry by the time I get there. With a Consular I like to have Master Dueling and Master Flurry, as well as pumping all of my attribute level-ups into Wisdom. As I mentioned at the beginning of this thread, Force Push or Force Whirlwind do a good job of pushing them out of the combat area, which deactivates them.

Armour

Just before you fight the handmaiden/s pause the game and place on your armour to get a strategic advantage. Because you paused so quickly it is not taken into account and you will not be penalised.

I beat them on difficult with my guardian who has 18 str, 16(23) dex and 16 con, I am also wearing armor that gives +5 (max 5 dex bonus), I used force barrier thing, or whatever its called, the second power that gives resistance to physical. After first handmaiden was down I had to recast it immediatly, same with second, then my force power was drained and I used mandalorian shields for the rest(+1 advanced medkit), I was close to dieing though!

Yup, I do that too. You have to do it really quickly though, if you hesitate for 1/2 second too much, it says you can't change your armor during combat.

Ok, I just tried the mine thing, and it flat out had zero effect... the never triggered any of the mines. I set out a dense field of overlapping mines over the entire combat arena, and they never tripped any of them. This has actually worked for somebody here?

Grab a bunch of the sticky grenades & toss. Then hit them with the frag or thermo grenades. After a few of the damage grenades, go back to sticky & repeat until they are weak / limping away.

1st thing I do in this situation is run away from the ladies, then pause & turn to toss a sticky. Then use the above.

The trick is to use a guardian with an abosolutly maxed double bladed lightsaber and master flurry and knight speed. The amount of attacks garantees that you will basicly kill one a round and if you have the right gear on then they will hardly hit you at all.

Sorry... that doesn't make any sense. Unless you're using the SGE, you can't have a lightsaber of any kind on Telos.
