Mage Guild Help

I accidentally killed Delmar after he gave me my mage staff figuring out how it works. The quest to be reacpted is a pain and the only save i have previous to the unfortunate incident is from 2 levels and three quests ago, one of which i had trouble completing and also one of the three, I don't remmber which, had a cool glass longsword, that is way better then any of my other weapons, drop off one of the mobs. The three quests in question are the one in falling rocks cave, rescuing darma from Hackdirt, and clearing out the necromancers from wellspring cave. So the quesion is are the rewards from the mages guild quests good enough to warrant me either doing those 3 quests again nd possibly not getting the glass sword, or the collecting 20 vampire dusts and 20 deadra hearts which sounds really tedious and difficult, or should i just say screw it and continue with the meain story line? at this point I'm lvl 15 and havn't even met Baurus yet in the Imperial city.

id just say screw it and do the main quest. worry about getting reaccepted l8er

I think the MG questline is worth finishing, but I don't know if I'd go that far back. I'd do the quest to get reinstated in the guild (and save more often in the future

).

It shouldn't be too hard to find 20 daedra hearts. At 15th level oblivion gates will be crawling with dremora. Just kill 'em all and take their hearts, and it should only take a couple gates to collect 20. (SPOILER:

several quests in the main questline require you to go in and close oblivion gates, so you can kill two birds with one stone that way

For vampire dust, try searching the forum for "vampire cave". I know there have been threads that discussed vampire lairs before, but I can only think of a few (SPOILER:

Bloodcrust Cavern east of Skingrad, many parts of the sewers under the imperal city, Lipsand Tarn north of Chorrol

). The good news is that the vampires respawn in most lairs after 3 days or so, so if you find a cave full of 'em and don't want to explore the rest of Cyrodiil to find more, just wait a while and go back.

ok great thanks for the info. I have tried not to read too much of the forums cause I don't want to ruin the agme for myself but knowing that there's several caves with vamps and that they respawn I'll probably just continue the MG. The deadra hearts was never my worry just the vampire dust.

awesome I can't continue on the main quest because I need to show a book to Tar meena in the Arcan University and I'm not allowed inside. If I randomly walk into oblivion gates will there be things to kill?

Hmmm, if you never joined the MG she'll be in the tower lobby (so you don't have to join to finish the main quest), so you could look there first. If she's not there, then she must be at the archives and you do need to get reinstated to continue. And oh my, yes, there will be plenty of things to kill inside random oblivion gates (only dremora and xivilai have daedra hearts though, so if you want to conserve ammo/magicka/charges/etc. you can avoid clannfears, imps, daederoth, atronachs, etc.)

ok so i closed one obilvion gate and managed to get 9 hearts and killed the cave near skingrad twice so i have 10 dusts. I didn't find any vamps in the parts of the sewer i could get to and the only thing i find north of chorrol is nonwill cave and hrtonda vale, any other places i can kill vamps or do i gotta wait till the other cave respawns?

this happened to me and i found it a huge pain to find all of them. Somehow i only collected about 9 or 10 daedra hearts and NO vampire dusts and went to talk to the mage head(forget his name at the moment) he said that i was re-admitted into the guild even though i didnt have all of the dusts and hearts
