HOTU: Can't sell to shops?

I have a large number of items that I get when questing that are worth large sums of money. When I go to a shop to sell them, no matter where it may be, I am only ever offered 10,000 gp for it, irregardless of what they will it sell to me for. Did I miss something or is there some kind of glitch? I always though store buy prices were half the selling value...

In Chapter 1 the max price you can sell stuff for is 10000, in Chapter 2 it goes up and in Chapter 3 it goes up again. This is intentional, otherwise you'd end up with rediculous amounts of cash.

okay. Thank you very much. I'm in chapter two and it's just sort of frustrating to see such an economic opportunity just outside my grasp.
