Im in actII...about to go on the mission to disrupt Garius the Black right after the shard was taken from the last lord. I remember one of the Nine (I think it was Nevel) telling me that I would get a stronghold if I defeated Lorne in the arena after the trial. I defeated Lorne and he hasnt mentioned the stronghold since. Did I miss something? Should I have the stronghold at this point?

kO538, just as the sticky thread says at the top of the forum, you're expected to put a SPOILER tag in any thread title when the contents give away game information that people might not want to know in advance. This one's even worse: "Please read" actually invites people to read stuff they wouldn't want to know.
