I've read all over the place that you need a 72 in HoF mode (and the characters with this are way too cheesey for me), but what about in regular mode?
What AC do you need so that the only chance of getting hit by a physical attack in regular mode is by the enemies rolling a 20?
TIA
Powergaming question: What AC do you need for a decoy in regular mode?

I think regular its a different story as the monsters don't cap out at a certain AB. 52 + 1-20 was the magic number in HOF but I don't think theres a cut-off (digital) like in HOF for normal.
So I guess there is always a benefit to having higher yet AC (within reason maybe you can hit the ceiling dunno but then your in the cheese section probably again).
Just take a deep gnome and/or monk and test it out. Or 20 dex elf and give best equip. I did it with Amraith of the Hands of Fury example party (20 dex) gave him some armband I found buffed him with haste and cats grace and I don't think much hit him including some special monsters.

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

can't tell you whixh AC you need exactly, but with an AC of 30+ you can't get hit very often in most parts of mid and later game!
AC 30+ combined with using MI, blink, blur, barkskin and stoneskin will give you more or less immunity to all kind of physical damage in normal game, even against the DK and most of the bosses!
