Turn Undead spells

Post by mr_sir »

Does anyone know what the chances are of actually managing to turn undead with the turn undead spells? Everytime I try it nothing happens. I'm playing a Redguard Paladin and trying to roleplay so I deliberately chose the sign which gives these spells. They just seem useless though. When surrounded by undead, particularly at a low level, the spell could come in really handy if it actually worked. Just wondering if the chance of it working is linked to level, or to a specific attribute (my willpower and intelligence are both pretty low at the moment).

I think such spells have a level built into them. For example there is level 1 turn undead but also level 10. If a monster is level 6 and your spell is level 1 then it shouldn't work. Check the spell description and check the bestiary (search) to see if the system is fair or if turn undead got the shaft.

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

It's simply a useless spell. The magnitude that the spell has is added to the creatures Flee rating, once this rating gets to within a certain % of the creatures Fight rating then it should flee, in theory. Unfortunately, as you've found Blessed Word destroys that theory. It has a magnitude of 100, this should work (on one target), but it doesn't because the spell is broken. I tried to get it to work on numerous occasions before finally giving up on it.

Ok, that's what I suspected :( Nevermind, thanks for the replies. I still don't understand why they included so many useless spells in the game lol
