can someone help? (slight spoiler)

Post by Mephisto »

Hi

i've completed the quest where you have to get the drakonian madstone for the countess of Bruma. while i was in pale pass i found a barrel on a frozen lake just down from the fort. There was a letter saying about some NPC's journey he had taken and that he had hid a priceless ring in a chest. there is also a key. There is lots of info on the note but i can see that you have to keep going round finding and opening chests and getting new keys. I found 1 chest that was on the other side of the fort but can anyone help me with any other chests?

thanks

mephisto

Non-spoiler answer is you have to search every inch of pale pass with a fine-toothed comb but I'm guessing you want a little more detail :)

SPOILER (highlight to read):
Spoiler
Get Rusty Key from barrel right outside the main tower. Walk around the outside of the tower to the west to a second broken tower. Half-buried chest inside contains Old Key. Now take the trail from the main tower back toward the door to Serpent's Trail (the way you came in). You'll pass between two statues. Keep going to the top of a little rise. Right where the trail starts to descend again, there is a broken wall on the left. Behind a big rock at one end of that wall is another half-buried chest that contains Forgotten Key. Resume following the trail back. Where the very last switchback turns left and you can see the door to Serpent's Trail, keep going straight up the hill instead. Go southwest up the hillside, bearing due south as much as the terrain will allow, and you'll find another half-buried chest that contains the ring.

you've given me the answer as well as not making it to easy and not giving away the spoiler. You should be some kind of super moderator or something.
