repeating blaster rifles vs. dual pistols?

Post by Darth Vacuus »

i know when you weild two pistols, you get an extra attack for the off-hand weapon, and it's most effective when you have the two-weapon fighting tree of feats, but does a repeating blaster rifle work the same way? does it also get an extra attack? i have noticed that the game animates it firing off more shots per round, but is actually making more attacks? and, if it does get the extra attack, is that because it works as if it were a two handed weapon, like a double bladed lightsaber, therefore making weilding it using the two-weapon fighting feat a good idea?

any input is appreciated.

Wow,I never even thought about that.
I think, actually, if you have the two weapon fighting feats, then it would be a really powerful weapon, maybe better than dual pistols, especially if it has alot of modifications adding more energy damage. Dual pistols might be better, because there are twice as many slots for weapon modifications.

(I found out, though if you move and dodge the blaster fire of your enemies and you have a ranged weapon equipped, you can dodge the blaster fire, then take your turn firing, and then keep dodging theirs every time it's their turn, you most likely won't be hit with any of their blaster bolts.) I know that doesn't really have anything to do with the topic, but it really helps against a single ranged weapon enemy. Sorry for getting off-topic :p

well, i took the liberty of testing it out, having just recently discovered the combat record feature in the messages screen reached from the journal screen of the pause menu. repeating blasters only make one attack per round; no offhand attack. funny i never saw that feature before, seeing as i've played through the game about a half dozen times...

so that settles that.
