Moving Items from SoA to ToB

Post by ClarksterMI99 »

Is it possible to use the chests in Watcher's Keep to transfer items from SoA to ToB? I have dealt with all of WK except for Demogorgon, and so I could put all of the things I have collected into chests on any of the other floors. Once I complete SoA, it is my understanding that I can return to WK during ToB. The question is, would the items still be there?? Does anyone know the answer to this?

I don't see any reason why your items wouldn't still be there, but I haven't tried it. I use bags of holding to carry everything with me instead of storing a bunch of stuff I want to keep in chests and other containers.

I have *A* bag of holding... are there multiple ones in SoA? Mine is simply too full to put all of my stuff in, especially the various items I am hanging on to for Cespenar.

I don't know where else to get a Bag of Holding besides Spellhold in Shadows of Amn. I normally use a mod such as the BG2 Tweak Pack which includes a component that lets you make all of the containers in BG2 "bottomless", including the Bag of Holding, all of the scroll cases, all of the gem bags, and the ammo belt you can find at Watcher's Keep. I also use a component called "infinite stacking" which removes the limit on the number of items that you can put in one stack such as arrows, gems, potions, etc. There are also mods that add an extra Bag of Holding, or you can cheat one in, but one bottomless Bag of Holding is usually enough for me. I don't know how you feel about cheating, but when I play, I don't want to waste a lot of time and frustration on inventory management.

Thanks, VonDondu! I had never checked out any of these mods - clearly I have been missing something...

As for the *ethics* of using this mod, I guess I don't consider it cheating to do something the easy way if I know I would do it the hard way in the absence of a choice. Having been an RPG player for the better half of of my 52 years (starting with pen and paper D&D), I know that if necessary I would make a dozen trips back to town on foot to deal with loot (upgrading when possible and selling otherwise) acquired during the course of clearing out a single dungeon, so I see a bottomless Bag of Holding as just making my life easier. Creating a Wand of Resurrection out of thin air - that's cheating.
