Question concerning final TG mission

I have Oblivion for my XBox 360. I am currently on the final TG mission. I've looked all over this forum and could not find an answer so here it is: If you are discovered by the Blind Monks is there anyway to rectify the situation and obtain the scroll? For some reason it wouldn't allow me to sit in the chair next to the table so I couldn't have the scroll brought down to me. Can anyone help me concerning this?

Welcome to GameBanshee, RoosterOfDeath. I know the Oblivion forum is intimidating in size, but this topic has been fairly well covered.
The problem of sitting in this quest has been an issue for many players of both the PC and XBox versions. I (on PC) was able to sit by using a variety of positions near the chair while attempting to sit and my character eventually sort of slid into the seat sideways. If you're discovered then the best bet is to reload from a previous save.

yes i would just use the search function and there are other threads on this.
but if you stand as far to the side as posible you should be able to sit.
that is how i did it.
