can assassins dual wield weapons??(yes i'm a noob)

i just got oblivion for my xbox 360 and i was just wondering if assassins can dual wield weapons or am i just stuck to chosing between a 2 hander or a 1 hander and shield?

'fraid not

No dual wield, just 2-hand, 1-hand & shield, 1-hand w/no shield, or bare knuckles.

i see, thanks. also whats the difference between heavy and light shields besides defense quality. why would any1 use light over heavy, are u able to sneak n move around better wit light shields or sumthin?

Tradeoff for lower defensive value of light shields is that they weigh less, so you can carry more loot.

Also, using a light shield will increase your Light Armor skill and heavy shield will increase Heavy Armor skill. If you mix 'n' match (say, leather armor with an iron shield), both skills will increase as you take hits, but slower than if all your armor is all Light or all Heavy. But some of the bonuses you get for high skill in Light or Heavy Armor don't apply if you mix 'n' match.

Only the weight of your boots/shoes makes any difference to sneaking - shield & other armor don't matter.
