I was curious to see if people have gotten further than me and have tried any of it out yet so far? Do you keep getting books with recipes that get progressively more advance? Is it mostly a "here's an intro, figure stuff out from patterns presented in the intro books" type deal instead? I keep finding random magic items that just do not fit my character concepts, and it is irritating me, so I want to make my own.

I have restarted 5 times so far...I do this all the time.
I have gotten the farthest in my latest game, having torn through the swamp, the lizardlings, bandits, crypts, Fort Locke, and the only place left on my map to go to that I haven't cleared out is Hillcliff I believe?
However, I believe I will be restarting my game to make a character that can enchant items. This crafting system in the game is a new one, and it seems interesting enough to try out.

"So funny, kiss me funny boy!" / *Sprays mace* " I know, I know, bad for the ozone"

I haven't really tried it out yet -- it seems to require both a skill and a feat to do anything, and who wants to spend that much? -- but I've found over 25 recipe books so far, so I don't think you're going to need to do too much guessing.

@ SWCarter, Thanks. Good to know they did provide a number of recipe books considering they screwed with the game mechanics.
Well, I may just test it out anyhow. Hmm, any clue whether they've redone it so just about anyone can craft anything, or is it still limited to certain classes can only do certain items?
