Daedric help (spoilers)

I am doing the last daedric shrine quest, the one where you collect 10 souls of all the races, im pretty sure i have got 9/10 of them but im having trouble finding a wood elf. ive looked through previous shrines and nothin so im stuck. and ive completed the arena. any help would b great.

Did you do the DB quests? If not and you won't I can give you directions to a few of them. If you will then some of the assassinations are wood elves I believe. If you already did then

You can kill some wood elves without bounty or murder in the Arena, if you haven't done all those matches yet.

I said that completed the arena. Im lvl 31 and i am master of all guilds, secret clubs, etc. ive completed the main quest and im after the daedric gods now. so help would be great. and ive just found out that ive killed a wood elf already i need a breton's soul. i cant find one.help plz.

My bad.

Try one of the caves where necromancers respawn. A lot of them tend to be Bretons.

Ditto for the fort ruins where you find conjurers.

i just went to echo cave and use the soul trap spell on all of them, and same for the fort next to anvil...nothin. im sry im must be a pain by now but i want this quest out of the way a.s.a.p and its becoming very annoying. ill list the races i have orc, imperial, bosmer, redgaurd, khajit, dunmer, argonian, nord, & altmer. i pretty sure breton not any of those. thanks for any help.

You will have to use Mora's Soul Trap spell. As far as I have understood how the quest is done, other soul trap spells won't work with the Mora's Soul Gem.

You could also have an new visit to the Shire to see if you have collected all the souls and just didn't noticed it. If you have, he should give you his deadric reward.

Hmm... I hope you don't have the problem I had once. The first time I tried to complete the quest, I got about half the souls and then the soul trap stopped working. I had just seen the "You can only cast Mora's Soul Trap on one creature at a time" message (I was fighting several marauders of different races in a cave near Leyawin, casting it like crazy in the hopes of getting several souls from one battle). I don't know if that had anything to do with it, or if it was just a coincidence, but I couldn't trap any souls from then on. It's a pity you still need a Breton, because you might have this problem, or you might just be killing tons of Imperials & Nords who just look like Bretons. It would be a lot easier to tell if you have a glitch if you still needed an Argonian or Khajiit.

Anyway, to fix it, I had to load a savegame and start the quest over. After that I was very careful only to cast the spell once per combat and save my game after every soul I captured.

Belthan it's a known bug with that quest, I think we discussed it somewhere in the forums already if you're keen on looking.

that very soul trap is the one ive been using the whole time. its lil simble thing looks like burden, just like the other daedras.
no it doesnt say that message when i use it on some body. it looks like it works fine. ill go with the idea that im killin nords and imperials and mistaken for bretons. i wish i could find a breton or at least a town where their might be one

If you are playing Oblivion on PC, here is an fix to that soul trap bug:
The Elder Scrolls Source - Oblivion Mods and Oblivion Plugins

And there is also another solution to your problem. Open your console and type:
player.setstage 000146AF 40

After hitting enter, you should be automatically credited for your "success" in capturing the souls

360? I am afraid I don't know how to help you. If you can, you could try to do as Belthan suggested and load a save game before starting the quest and being a bit more careful this time.

As for Bretons there is one in the Castle of Anvil, Beatrice Gene, she doesn’t offer any services and isn’t part of any quests. Killing her shouldn’t have a big impact to the rest of the game.

ok, ok ive got the soul thx to the breton girl u told me about. i just had to keeo on hitting her with it till it gave me the message this person has already been hit by this spell thingy. thx for the help evrybody

Heh you made me open up the TES CS in the end. The aforementioned Beatrice Gene is indeed a Breton so no go, but:

Female/Ganredhell/Wood Elf/Acrobat/Cheydinhal somewhere/not Quest related
Female/Hasathil/Wood Elf/Commoner/Anvil/no Q r
Female/Andragel/Wood Elf/Commoner/Bravil/no Q r

Some of the Black Bow Bandits are WEs, if you haven't done that yet.

Male/Brodas/Wood Elf/Crusader/Leyawiin/no Q r
Male/Gundalas/Wood Elf/MerchTrader/Leyawiin/no Q r

Try to find some of these.
