How do I get out of the catacombs and into the Hall Of Epochs? I searched this topic and found it asked twice, both times the answers given were not related to this question. So, how do I get the iron gate to open? I have the Xbox 360 version if that matters.
Thanks in advanced

Crikey, I just did this quest two days ago and can’t remember a thing about how I exactly did it.
If you aren’t already wearing the Boot of the Springheel Jak wear them now, most characters do need the +50 to acrobatics to get past this section.
You should be standing in the middle of the room and facing the iron gate blocking your access to Halls of Epochs, now turn to left and face the party crumbled stairs. You should be able to jump to the higher level of the room. There are two but buttons, do not activate the closest one but find the other one. After pushing it, the iron gate should be open for you to continue your quest. If not, go quickly to the first button and activate it too.

I would still encourage you to try figure it out, have you tried running in straight line from the farthest button to the one near the broken stairs? Or have you tried pushing the only button?
But if this quests begins to really annoy you, just open the console and type “tcl”. Now you can just float through the gate and continue your quest. Don’t forget to deactivate the code by typing it again.

Have you looked at the walkthrough?
Have you tried following the walkthrough yet? Give the link a shot if you haven't.

THill: you have to press BOTH buttons. But if you press one of them a second time, it 'unchecks' as it were, so you need to press it again. The gate opens immediately and stays open (not sure if it closes behind you, but you have lots of time), you don't need to run.

Thanks everyone.
I eventually got through. The problem seems to be the "buttons" in the Elven ruins don't work (most of the time) when I push them. This has been the case in every ruin I've been in so far. This must be a bug in the Xbox version because I found it refrenced in another post too. I'll try holding the "A" button down while the the Xbox is turning on/loading as suggested in that post, but if anyone else knows what to do I'd be thankfull for input.
